Good

A little short of perfection

I enjoyed the original bionic commando when I was a kid so I was interested to see how this generation's title would look. Overall, this was a solid game. However, there were quite a few flaws that kept the game from being perfect. First of all, the game was incredibly linear and the way the developers had of limiting your range or where you could go was by making those areas radioactive and deadly. I can't count the number of times I died because I swung into an area that was off-limits but could not swing out in time to avoid death. That was annoying. Also, most of the game is pretty flexible as far as where you can swing and grapple from. There are a few sections where this is not the case and being precise with the wire grapple was an exercise in frustration. I fell to a watery death many times. The game became progressively harder as can be expected but there were many sections towards the end that were ridiculously overrun with enemies. The final two boss fights were very easy though and it was a little anti-climactic. I won't give any spoilers here but there is one last plot twist in the game that I found to be completely ridiculous. I think the developers wanted to wow the player with this amazing information but ended up giving us a "What?" moment. moment. The challenges system was great and gave me something to push for as I increased the strength of Spencer for what was ahead. The swinging was fun in most areas and felt a little "spiderman like". Weapons were a little scarce but I believe that was the point. Overall, I would recommend this game but expect to need a lot of patience for certain areas and expect some goofy plot lines.

This game is very fun, other than the lack of weapons in your arsenal it is very entertaining. You can only carry three weapons at a time, and for a game like this i was expecting at least 5 weapon slots. Another thing i Didnt find amusing, how many times do i have to go through the same damned routine! I mean turn off the minefields kill a bunch of dudes, Then Do it all over again. Now for the positives. The arm is awesome! Holding people up in the air while u shoot them to shreds is very fun. Swinging everywhere and shooting in mid-air is great. Throwing cars and big boulders around Kills ur enemies quck, especially useful considering they gang up on you because there is no stealth involved(hide in the Shadows! nope they still see you). I believe this game deserves a six and nothing more.

The bionic arm isn't as good as Spiderman's web slinging, and the 3rd person gunplay isn't great either. It's not open world, so you can't play around with the bionic arm, and it's very linear.

It does stay true to the original though. Very similiar and sometimes frustrating gameplay. You run out of ammo constantly, and are forced to take out enemies to progress. Unlike the original you can't go back to the same area to collect things, which is frustrating.

What made the first Bionic Commando fun to me was the RPG like open world, and collecting items. The arm was just a cool feature.

This game is all about the arm, and any open world elements are gone.

Also the voice acting is pretty cheesy, and the story isn't all that interesting. Especially given the cheese factor of the actors.

6 out of 10

Now onto inFAMOUS!
