First impressions are a video game strong suit. They wow you at the beginning and slowly lose their charm as you pour more hours in. That is, except for Bioshock. Throughout the 12+ hours, it kept me hooked with that first impression vibe. This game is intense, scary, and perfect in every way. When I say scary, I don't mean Resident Evil scary, I mean Rapture (the city you are in) is hideous and so are the people in it. It is disturbing to see how the underwater metropolis has fallen into decay but man is it worth it! You have to fight to survive with inhumane gadgets that tear your foes apart, but it's either you or them. And the biological mishaps, known as the Little Sisters may inspire you to pull a blanket around you. These seemingly harmless little girls will have their giant cyborg escorts, the Big Daddies, drill, pummel, shoot, and squish you to protect their "daughters". After they demolish you, these innocent munchkins will take a giant syringe and drain you of your life blood that gives you special powers...and drink it. But really, Bioshock is a masterful game with insanely awesome plot twists that will keep you invested to the end. The main antagonist is one that is truly despicable and it is satisfying when you face off for the last time. You are alone in rapture except for the various other characters that communicate via telephone. You barely see them and your relationship to them is distant. The one flaw with Bioshock is that it drags out the last few hours until the final battle. However, this is no reason to miss out on this wonderful title. It gives one heck of a first impression!
It's a good game to play if let's say, you have a lot going on and don't have time to put in extra work an loose a lot of sleep over something in depth. Like fall out, sky rim, or even GTA v. But it's got a decent story line with twists and turns. Decent game play. Graphics are interesting. I would say that of a really good comic. I liked it. I just wouldn't pay for it, and obviously didn't care to keep it.
