Bioshock Infinite is, without a doubt, one of the crowning examples of what video games can achieve. Even if you find parts of it that you don't particularly like, you cannot deny that this is at the very least, proof that games are capable of someday being as powerful and memorable as the best literature or film. While maintaining the classic feel of past Bioshock (and System Shock) gameplay, it adds to this base with inventiveness and imagination. The story (and it's unbelievable twist at the end) have left me in a state of near numbness and shock. I'm still reeling as I write this. If you're not a fan of first person shooters, you should simply play on easy mode for no other reason than to experience its world, its characters, and its absolute majesty. Bioshock Infinite deserves to be compared to the likes of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Portal, (along with the entire Half-Life universe) Super Metroid or any other game you endear in your all-time-top games. Play it. Be amazed. A masterpiece.
