I wasn't sure what I would think of this game when I started it, but I ended up actually getting pretty deep into this game. I'm not typically drawn so much to third person shooters like I am first person shooters, but this is one of the few games that actually drew me in. Here's a breakdown:
Pros: pretty good graphics, at some point they seem very realistic.
pretty decent game mechanics.
pretty deep story.
Cons: Some battle engagements last TOO long.
A lot of cutscenes followed by some run and gun but luckily the game isn't incredibly long so it starts getting old by the time the game ends, took me about 8 hours.
Not enough weapons, no armor upgrades. There are weapon upgrades, and some skill upgrades, but it wasn't enough to keep interest and the upgrades were only for the primary assault rifle (which you can never get rid of).
The one part I left out of the Pros and Cons is character/story and plot bonding. This game, because of all of it's cutscenes, works to build strong relationships with the characters and the story which worked for me. It also makes sure to explain very well what the point of the story is. If you like this type of engagement with some shooting along with it, then this is a pro for you. If you want to just go in and start shooting stuff and don't care about anything or anyone, then this will probably be a con for you.
First off this title was released way too close to Mass Effect 3 and considering its somewhat relatable it was doomed to failure after that release date. I didnt really enjoy this game it reminds we of a weaker less inspired version of vanquish...its been sitting there for a week collecting dust and its time for it go back because its a chore to play...there might be a redeeming qualities in there but I couldn't find it in my brief couple of sessions
