checked the disc and there were no scratches or anything. looked fine. inserted into my ps3, and the game popped up. upon launching it i just got a black screen and the drive on the ps3 was going all loopy. perhaps it was my ps3, or a bad copy of the game?

Excellent

Game or Really Long Movie?

I love this game/movie! The gameplay really does not get in the way of the story progression and you have enough control to feel fully immersed in the world. Making mistakes just causes you to go down a different path, but it still fluidly moves along the overall story arc. It is hard to stop playing the game because you always want to see what happens next with the protagonist. The unveiling of the whole story behind her existence is dramatic and exciting, which is why I couldn't stop playing the game non-stop. I want to play through the game again making different choices to see what happens in the end. Really, great game for people who love games with great stories. Gameplay is very similar to Heavy Rain, which is another game I love that reminds me of a really long movie.

Good

It's a story - not action packed

It's a very good story but if you are expecting a shooter game, you will be disappointed. I found it a little annoying to be honest. They chose to use the knobs and shaking the remote like you were playing on a Wii. You go through all this training on how to move and shoot and by the time you get to it in the game you can't remember if you are suppose to move into a hit or away from a hit AND it's such a short sequence you wonder why they bothered. Anyway. If you don't mind sitting through a "movie" with a few moments of movement then you will really like this game.
