As a movie, Beyond: Two Souls is excellent. I like the storyline, I love the graphics, I love the interaction between characters.
As a game, it's... well... it's not a game. It's a movie where you occasionally - very very occasionally - click a button. There's almost no real interactivity between player and game.
Your choice don't really matter for much whether you succeed or fail even, and if you're trying to get trophies, the method of having the character dodge is frustrating. Also choosing the replay of time periods is very frustrating since it's not clear HOW to choose a time period. It's a shame - I thought it would be a lot like The Last of Us in gameplay (which was amazing).
I'm not saying it's not a good thing to rent. You'll finish it in probably a day, and you'll probably like the story, but there's nothing about it that makes it a fun game, rather than a very good movie.
In the end, it's a game to rent, definitely not a game to buy and own unless it's a bargain bin deal. Hopefully if there's a sequel, they'll make more interactivity
Combat is very natural.
Best game since Heavy Rain.
Excellent voice and motion-capture acting makes for a very immersive experience.
The fights are fluid and keep the focus on the action.
Deep story and well-developed characters.

The chapters being played out in a fashion that is not in order keeps the game fresh and entertaining. The acting is great as well. Some chapters are more memorable than others but overall the game is not rewarding at all and gameplay is very passive. This makes you wish you had a greater impact on the events of the title. If your looking for a challenge avoid this game. This is a rent not a buy.If you want something similar that is superior in gameplay checkout heavy rain.
