I agree with most reviews, they tried to hard in making this game which ultimately lead to a lot of features in my opinion that where left out that would have made this game a lot better play. However, from the reviews i read about his game being to complex - this is true to a point, yet, in mind, having played a lot of fighter sims and being left with a missing feeling in my soul - this game is so much as complex as it is challenging. If you focus on the game and the piloting ability needed to progress within it - you will notice this. You chances for survival are slim to none - but is that not war fare? This game really appeals to me because it does not have to same - drain shields, bust hull, kill. factor - A few good shots and either you or the enemy pilot is dead, so you can save your missile's for more intense dogfights. And you also get that gripping feeling that your survival truly comes down to how good you can fly. If you suck and rely on shields to save you and lock and fire missile's to win the fight - you won't make it past the second level - that's a given - If you know how to handle the stick and no when is a good time to yaw, pitch or roll. Then you might just stand a chance.
There are a few improvements that i feel can be made to the game - For one, if your mission is to fly cover for a squad leader, it would be nice if that squad leader new how to defend himself rather than getting blown into dust the second you turn to engage the attacking enemy - BEING able to tend to your mission objective as well as defend yourself seems an almost impossible task at times. But again, that's warfare - No real enemy is going to be any different. My rating is a 8 - good game for veterans of pilots sims, yet there is still a place or two that's wide open for improvement.
