While its built on the CoD Engine the game stays unique doesnt have the same feel as a generic FPS game.
Im one to normally Stay Away from Games made from Movies but this one did well.... didnt follow the Movie Story exactly like others do.
Gameplay wise it was ok didnt really run into many issues i think my game froze once while playing it.
I played to get the platinum so was playing on hardest mode from the beginning and it wasnt too difficult there were some parts that were frustrating but over all it was fun and easy
Unique gameplay elements, but where's the story

Battleship places you on an Island in the middle of the ocean when all of the sudden an alien spacecraft comes crashing into the ocean. Battleship is very light on plot. There's hardly any character development and the game doesn't even explain what the alien spacecraft could be or what it has to do with anything. That is what blew away about battleship, one of the worst stories in a game in a long time.
The graphics in Battleship are descent, but nothing special, the scenery is descent and the lighting is pretty good. The character models reminded me of Crysis 2 which is a much better game.
The gameplay in battleship is the one thing they did very well. The shooting is solid and the movement is somewhat speedy. The campaign can be played 2 ways, First Person or Battle command. Battle command turns the game into more of an RPG that an FPS. This is what impressed me about Battleship as it reminded me of the board game somewhat.
Overall Battleship the video game is just another generic FPS with the option of RPG game play. There's not even standard multiplayer which would add some longevity to this game.
What does it take to become a rated reviewer?

What you have here is a typical 3rd person movie shooter. AVERAGE Graphics. Nothing that will shock you or make you have to have, play or rent this game. In my opinion it is simply a OK GAME. But there are some troublesome things that make you wonder why be bothered.
- Weapon selection, I grade it a D-.
Only five weapons to choose from. We are suppose to believe you are in the Navy. Stationed on a Navy vessel, yet you can't find your way to the armory.
-Over all game, I grade this game a C-
The battle scenes are okay at first. Then it's the same action sequence over and over again. If you sink one Alien ship. You get the same movie scene for any other that you sink. Makes game boring.
-Storyline, Not much storyline, want more. SEE MOVIE.
-Maybe if they used a SEAL TEAM in movie, we would have gotten more weapons and better AI team members. But I grade this a D.
-Game controls, I grade it a B. Typical easy to learn.
Game is short, AI team members are typical= they stand around, get shot, offer little to no help. Little to no replay value for this game.
Could Have been better!!!

Main reason for my anger: The enemy has these launched missile things called peg bombs. After I finished the 3rd level on Hard, and during a cinematic, a peg bomb lands, but since I can't move (in a cinematic remember?), the game freezes on me. I load it back up and I have to play the whole final part over again. Ummm, no, time to send back to Gamefly. LOL, garbage bin game.
BattleShip, like the boardgame only worse...much
