Multiplayer excels

So the single player campaign may be a shameless rip off of previous modern warfare titles, Battlefield 3's multiplayer builds upon its previous titles making it a far superior online experience to call of duty's.

Timeless series, AMAZING GAME...EA is demented

Wow.

This game exceeded my expectations, 99% of the glitches fixed from the beta. Graphics absolutly amazing! Gameplay, also is very fun. Fine line between realism and "arcadey" gameplay. Bf3 is the only game where you can go from flying a jet to skillfuly sniping enemy players miles away within minutes, and having it play perfectly. Only down fall is obviously the campaign, I understand that 60$ means you get the campaign and multiplayer. But who buys Battlefield games for the singleplayer? No one. My final reason, It's not call of duty! But really though, enough call of duty...
To finish this review, I have to agree with everyone.. FU%& EA!..... I don't care how they accomplish this, but DON'T PENALIZE PEOPLE WHO RENT YOUR GAME. Doing this won't save you money or increase your profits, EA. But I will say this, go buy this game. It won't let you down. Bite the bullet and cough up that 60, and you won't have to worry about the "online pass".

I actually OWN it

and this game is amazing.

For a rental... no, it's not really worth it. All you'll get is the Single player if you rent it. You can buy an online pass for $10... but if you decide to keep it, the code should probably be in the box anyways... so it would be wasted.

The single player isn't all that bad really. Frostbite 2 is a great engine and it makes for a beautiful game. Story is uninspired, but a bit more believable in some of it's execution that some other over the top action stories in games.

The multiplayer is the heart of this game, and sadly, that means it's not a great game for a rental. However given Gamefly's "Keep-It" discount, and their seemingly policy to ship all game codes when you do, it could be a cheaper way into the BF3 universe without having to pay the FULL retail price.
