Great game. Well worth the price.

Let me start by saying this; Battlefield 3 should be bought instead of rented. Like all online features for EA games, you need an online pass. I admit, it's a shame that they force you to pay for what should be free, but that's the way it is.
Now that we've taken care of that, let's talk.
Single player is definitely a step-up from Battlefield Bad Company 2, but it's not that amazing. If you were disappointed from BFBC2's campaign, you may breathe a sigh of relief as BF3 makes up for it. Like I said, it's not that amazing, but it's something if you bought the full game. If you're only renting it however, be prepared for disappointment, as the campaign is only a few measly hours.
Multiplayer is where this game excels. The developers definitely under-soled it weeks before its release. The graphics are amazing whether you decide to download the 1.5 GB HD enhancement, although it's best to download it when prompted to get better quality and a more memorable experience. The maps are large, ranging from a simple metro tunnel to a full blown border crossing. The vehicle warfare is outstanding as usual, which Battlefield games seem to excel in. Whether it's blasting enemies in tanks, or taking down helicopters with jets, this game shows its best through vehicles.
Battlefield 3 also decided to add in a Co-op feature, where two friends can play missions together which range from giving sniper support to extracting a V.I.P and delivering him safely to an extraction point. This new feature is outstanding in my opinion since I can play with just me and a friend. However, it is an online feature, so for those renting it, prepared to be disappointed, as this is for those who have an online pass only.
All in all, Battlefield shows its true potential in this title. The graphics are outstanding on any console, the multiplayer is amazing, and the campaign leaves something to be desired, but is a decent ride if you can look forward to multiplayer along
