This is the Land that Should Be Lost But Isn’t - and it should be in the Fighter genre, NOT the Family/Party genre; there's no party games here.
Battle of Giants: Dinosaurs Strike is your basic fighter where you can pick a dinosaur and battle it against others (controlled by the AI or by another human player). But there’s almost no imagination or creativity on display here.
The modes of play are what you’d expect: a campaign mode where one player has to fight nine different dinosaurs one by one to unlock another dinosaur.
There’s a Versus Mode where two humans can fight against each other with one of the unlocked dinosaurs - or play a tag team tournament where four dinos go at it in teams of two
Or there’s a tournament mode where up to four players can go it with a one on one, or tag team two on two, single elimination tournament.
But the fundamentals of this game leave a lot to be desired.
The fights are nothing more than mashing the A and B buttons in a vain attempt to see which strikes will hit and which will not. Along the way, the fighters are given the opportunity to pull of power attacks - which is nothing more than waggle the Wiimote and Nunchuck when prompted.
Oh, and you do have to avoid several spots of fire on the field, but that’s really easy to do.
And that’s it. It doesn’t matter that this game has up to 18 dinosaurs available or that you can customize the looks of your dinosaur - all of them play the same mindless button mashing way as all the other dinosaurs.
And it doesn't matter which arena you pick; the only difference between them is just the background; the fighting area is the same for all arenas.
Battle of Giants: Dinosaur Strike needs diversity and some creativity in order to make it in the fighter genre. SKIP IT.
Although this is a wonderise game, it has its ups and downs. One of there ups is that its got great grapics, but the moves are very boring to watch over and over and i really think that afteryoubeat a certain dinosaur you get new moves like double pike attack or triple teeth sinker. But all through the game it was interesting....
