this game rules. yeah its 2d i mean 2.5d and no it isnt too much like the other titles in the series. yes this is his 3rd or 300th time to go to this prison and no the badguys that are always there arent dead somehow. whoooo cares! graphics good gameplay good story good videogame good good good good.
this game is solid, if you liked the metroid games like fusion or zero or any of them outside of prime get this. matter of fact, buy it its less than 20 and thats prolly less than you pay for gamefly anyway.

This is basically Batman meets Metroidvania, so it's got that going for it. It's a decent rental since the game itself can be knocked out in about 8 hours (which is short).
But the environments are pretty drab overall - there's not that much of a difference from one building to the next so the game gets a little monotonous.
The fighting is pointless (combos mean nothing) and you don't get combat upgrades like the other Batman games.
The gadget upgrades you collect are OK I guess, but it's a beating to have to retread the entire game in order to figure out where secrets lie.
Also, the map is one of the worst maps in any video game I've played. The indicator just shows a flat map from an aerial view - it doesn't show floors, so getting from one room to the next is never as easy as it might appear.
The boss fights aren't that clever and are kind of a pain.
