MENU CONTROLS
Directional Buttons Highlight menu item
X Button Select, Save Changes (Option Menu), Skip movie
Triangle Button Previous Menu/Exit
Start Button Quick start the game/Go to team Dugout (Season Play mode). Save Changes (Option Menu), Skip movie.

FIELDING CONTROLS
X Button Select fielder closest to the ball. Pitcher.
Triangle Button Jumping catch.
Circle Button Diving catch.
L1 Button L1 + Left Analog Stick = Change defense - outfield
R1 Button R1 + Left Analog Stick = Change defense - infield
Start Button Pause game
Left analog stick (L3 Button when pressed down) Move selected fielder. Send fielder to base: Right + Circle = 1st base. Up + Circle = 2nd base. Left + Circle = 3rd base. Down + Circle = home plate.
Right analog stick (R3 Button when pressed down) Throw ball to a fielder: Right = 1st base. Up = 2nd base. Left = 3rd base. Down = home plate. X = Pitcher.

BATTING CONTROLS
X Button Swing. Select Hit Type - Line Drive.
Triangle Button Select Hit Type - Power.
Square Button Select Hit Type - Bunt.
Circle Button Select Hit Type - Grounder.
L1 Button (Opens stance for right-handed hitter) Select batting stance.
R1 Button (closes stance for right-handed hitter) Select batting stance.
Start Button Pause game
Left analog stick (L3 Button when pressed down) Left/Right = Position Swing Spot (red circle)

RUNNING CONTROLS
Directional Buttons Lead off base (before pitch is thrown): Up + Triangle = from 1st base, Left + Triangle = from 2nd base, Down + Triangle = from 3rd base. Cancel lead off (before pitch is thrown): Right + Square = from 1st base, Up + Square = from 2nd base, Left + Square = from 3rd base. Steal base (before pitch is thrown): Up + X = steal 2nd base, Left + X = steal 3rd base, Down + X = steal home. Cancel steal (before pitch is thrown): Right + Circle = from 1st base, Up + Circle = 2nd base, Left + Circle = from 3rd base.
Start Button Pause game
Left analog stick (L3 Button when pressed down) Send runner to base (after hitting the ball): Up + X = 2nd base, Left + X = 3rd base, Down + X = home plate. Force runner back to base: Right + Circle = 1st base, Up + Circle = 2nd base, Left + Circle = 3rd base.

PITCHING CONTROLS
X Button Pitch. Select pitch type - Heat.
Triangle Button Select pitch type - Change-up
Square Button Select pitch type - Curveball
Circle Button Select pitch type - Screwball
R2 Button Turn Pitch Spot ON/OFF
Start Button Pause game
Left analog stick (L3 Button when pressed down) Position Pitch Spot (blue bull's-eye). Left or Right = Access pitching power-ups (when earned).
Right analog stick (R3 Button when pressed down) Pickoff throw: Right = 1st base, Up = 2nd base, Left = 3rd base.
