Huge Back to the Future fan here, so I ate this up. I loved the story, I'm a big fan of adventure titles -- and this game delivered for me. Some parts are annoying, like mixing the elixer as Emmet yells at his dad, or moving around the flying Delorean, but mostly I had a great time and couldn't wait to play the next chapter.
Big drawbacks are the bugs, like skipping animation, pop-ins, and audio problems. The most annoying audio problem is on the intro screen, where the Back to the Future theme cuts out. Every time I played I had to listen to that bug. Sheesh.
So let me start off by saying I'm a HUGE Back to the Future fan. So right off the bat I had rather high expectations about this game, especially after all the press Telltale has been getting lately from The Walking Dead games they've been putting out. Here's the thing - This game isn't perfect. Camera controls are bad sometimes. Movement controls are bad sometimes. The story isn't always amazing. But overall, these games were AWESOME. An amazingly fun throwback to the days of Lucasarts' hayday with Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, Day of the Tentacle, Sam & Max, and plenty more. The story is what really shines here and like I said, while it's certainly stronger in some places rather than others, it's a great time overall.
Final Word - Do you like (more like did you like, since they're such a rarity these days) point and click adventure games? Do you like Back to the Future (Seriously, who doesn't?) Check this out if you have the patience to deal with some minor technical issues with the tradeoff being a really fun addition to the Back to the Future universe with plenty of references to the movies.
Really enjoyed this game and if you are a fan of Back to the Future, the game picks up right after the third movie and almost serves as a sequel. Easy to play point and click adventure where you solve puzzles by inspecting and talking to people. Worth the money and time. Nice to have Christopher Lloyd and Claudia Wells voice their characters plus the guy who does Marty's voice is spot on.
