Simple and Effective

Please keep in mind that this game is catered to players ages 5-8. This game is a shooter, with decent graphics and simple gameplay. My 5 year picked it up and played it with no learning curve. The two player coop feature was very nice to get him through the tougher foes. Over all the game caught his attention and it sticks to the story line of the movie. The game doesnt change much. But again this isnt a game for an older child now is it? I would say overall i am pleased with it. Worth a rental if you have a young fan of the movie!

First off, movie wise, I like the original Astroboy better than this new Americanized(?) version, though I must admit, this is a pretty cool movie anyway, and a decent introduction to the characters.

This game seems to be closely modeled after the excelent GBA title by Treasure a few years ago. (Which they don't even mention in the credits?!)

The graphics are shiny and in 3d this time,
but the gamplay is actually simpler! (dumbed down?)

It's still pretty fun, I could see kids having a great time.

The battles get a little repetative, but there IS strategy here.

If you get really into it, try the GBA game ( "omega factor"
and learn about this amazing history of Astro (and his artist Tezuka!) )
