The latest Assasins Creed game was a complete failure for me. The graphics are enjoyable but that is about it for the positives. The game offered nothing new or exciting that warrants a purchase of it.
I have enjoyed the series to this point but despite my optimism, nothing has changed to improve the previous releases and it leaves you feeling like you paid for a Rolex but received a Timex in its place.
The normal annoyance of not seeing your character when fighting in tight spots is still present. You can often not look up to see a limb when climbing trees. The hunting addition is cute, but hardly a significant addition to a storied series.
I returned the game before completion. The last straw for me was while in a typical fight with guards in Boston. My noteriety was full and as usual, anyone that sees you attacks. No problem. Then they just continued coming from no where. I fought them for 30 minutes or longer and they just magically spawned as if necromancy was in play. I killed the entire city of Boston's population several times over and had enough. I should mention the concerned citizens wringing thier hands in grief as they continued to stand in the middle of fights instead of moving away.
I have loved the Assasins Creed franchise up to this point. That ended with Assasins Creed 3.

I havent gotten to far into the game though I must say the graphics and gameplay is pretty amazing. The story is still confusing as always one big mystery but it seems worth it . I say try t you wont be let down
I was one of the gamers who had pre-ordered this game so it should go without saying I had some decent expectations. This game did not at all disappoint when it comes to the single player aspect but I wasn't all too impressed with the lack of innovation or new aspects to multiplayer. The single player campaign is longer than most will expect when playing it, especially if you do all the sidequest and homestead missions. Naturally the story is mostly wrapped up at the end but being who Ubisoft is they still have teased another game being added to the installment and has only ended one story arc. The multiplayer however has very little anything new to add from what it already had in the previous games and I often found that low rank players constantly would be paired with high rank players thus making a stacked and uneven match. That happened more often than not and got me disgusted with even trying to play multiplayer for AC3. Overall I give this game 7 out of 10 mostly because of all the effort put into the single player campaign but could have received a 9 or 10 if they had also done the same for multiplayer.
