Excellent

New story line has paid off

AC3 was by no means my favorite in the series (and I've played them all), but you should still definitely check it out. A fresh new Native American/New America story line is great. This is the best looking AC yet--graphics wise, but I thought the dumbed down gameplay made this inferior to both Brotherhood and Revelations.

Conner is the Native American assassin you play as this time, and it's a great story of British landing and invading the new free land, and how the natives deal with it, still somehow tying in Desmond and the Assassin's brotherhood. Probably the best written story so far, but too much story for me, I'd rather have better gameplay.

Conner can still climb like a true Assassin, but his unique skills let you free climb forests, walls, cliffs, and trees, like you are from Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon. This new feature gives you a huge open world of vast forests and rocky hills to navigate, except they are void of any hidden secrets or treasures.

AC3 ruined exploration by ridding treasure chests, instead replaced by meaningless feathers and other trinkets. I hated that. Also, Conner's skills are nothing compared to Ezio's arsenal of gadgets and weapons. Combinations with bluntt and sharp objects are amazing here, but the variety is lacking with special upgrades and any reminant of a skill tree to upgrade Conner and his abilities.

You can still have your own crew of assassin's to manage, but it's dumbed down and doesn't add any value. You cannot openly recruit new people, but can send them on missions to get you xp and money. You can still call on them during battles.

New naval missions were added, making you captain of a ship to defeat enemies at sea during battles. That new feature is awesome, and I enjoyed those side missions.

All in all AC3 is still great, but I think I enjoyed the previous 2 more. This seemed like a risky move on story and a safe bet on gameplay. Still a must rent.

I have and completed all the other Creed games but for some reason I am having a hard time making significant progress. This game is much more challengeing than the others. Before you play this game make sure you have mastered the others in the franchise and BRING YOUR A-GAME! Your gonna need it!
