Pros: It's an Assassin's Creed game, and it keeps all the major elements intact. This makes for fun gameplay - except for the combat.
Cons: Anything with Desmond. I also don't understand why Ubi felt the need to change the combat control and technique scheme. The one from II, Brotherhood and Revelations worked so well, and now we have this "hold B not to die" nonsense. Really, i think that this one brought back a lot of the issues I had with combat from the very first game in the franchise.
(No spoilers here.) By the middle of this game, I was pretty bored. Connor is so much of a pawn that his character just isn't interesting at all. There's a very large portion of the game that seems to be on rails - very wide rails with a little bit of room for creativity, but rails nonetheless. I honestly had to ask myself if I was still having fun halfway through the game. When I had actually put the game down for a couple of days and realized that I didn't care, and didn't really have a lot of desire to pick the game up and finish it, i sent it back to Gamefly.
This game feels dangerously like the Assassin's Creed franchise is moving in the direction of the Call Of Duty games - yearly releases with as little variance, creativity and story as possible, essentially minor variations on a major theme.

I can understand the frustration that people had when seeing the ending. The game overall, still great, balanced and a HUGE improvement over the others. You start the game and ask yourself at many points if this is still an assassins creed game. The improvements both visually and in the AI can only improve and these guys have come a long way I can say that. Great story telling on all fronts and I look forward to the next release even though it was sooner than expected. Still some bugs with jump direction and run direction but, as I said again, you can see the improvements only getting better.
