Assassin's Creed III for Xbox 360 Reviews by Gamers

The new Assassin's Creed probably had the best idea yet: the American Revolution. You play as a native American, (although they kinda killed it that he has to be half white, but I guess he has to somehow be related to Ezio and Altair). The setup was awesome, traveling from Boston, to New York, to the Frontier where your native village is located. The gameplay and fighting was excellent as always and incognito even better than before. One could easily tell that the creators were influenced heavily by Red Dead Redemption, where the hunting, pelt-gathering, and horse back riding was something that side-tracked most players since it was really fun, (unoriginal), but really fun. Not to mention the awesome weapons added: tomahawk and rope dart being the best weapons yet!

The character depiction of historical characters was accurate and thus good. "Connor" is very stale in personality, but one grows used to his solemn, yet honorable personality. The great thing about this one is that it shows George Washington and the Founding Fathers in a true light -- slave owning, native killing white men. Then again, it doesn't make sense why Connor would be fighting on their side. I thought the developers were a little too easy on their criticisms on American icons.

The cut scenes were entertaining but revealed strange, awkward occurrences between dialogue. Bigger map = more bugs. Don't play the stupid mini-games: for example in checkers, if you have the chance to eat, it forces you to take that chance. The main missions were not as intimate as they were in any of Ezio's stories. The player doesn't really get to live it like a movie, which is probably the bad part of the game.

Best missions: Captain Kidd's treasure, Boston Brawlers and any sailing missions.

No wonder they created Black Flag so quickly -- sailing is one of the funner parts of the game! Hope they still use Connor for the new one. He's a great character.
