I have to say I really loved playing this game. This game shows great improvement from the first game. It has taken all the bad things about it and kept the good stuff plus added even more to it! Instead of just getting to assassinate people, here you interact with different people and enviroments. You see how the story of the character, Ezio, developes as he journeys for his revenge.
There are many, many new things that you will sertainly enjoy! For one there is currency. So you can purchase lots of things. There is also armor and other new enhancements, but I won't spoil the fun.
I would also like to note that the graphics have greatly improved. To tell you the truth I don't care about graphics, but for those who do, this won't dissapoint. The music is great, and it's just right to get you into the mood of that period. The gameplay mechanics have not changed much, and that's good. There are some new ways to clim, dive, and whatever else. The story has also improved. Instead of just getting a mission to kill someone, you get to know people along the way. Varied from family to strangers, but they all have a great character delevopment. Makes you feel close to them. Weird, I know, lol.
If you didn't play the first one because of how repetitive (or for what ever reason) it was, you have to forgive it. Just know that there is a great path ahead. This is only if you enjoy the story. There are some moments in the game that refference the first one. Perhaps it is not important, but it will be fun to know.
All in all, this game is great, and you MUST play it-- heck even own it!

The first one was great but the second was 10x better. It was cool going to Italy during the late 1400's and meeting Leonardo Da Vinci. The weapons were cool. I felt like Ezio actually had a heart compared to Altair. Really amazing story, gameplay, and graphics. Can't wait to play the other AC games!
