Area 51 is a good game that puts you in the heart of the the alien capital of this planet earth. You play as a solider who is a part of a squad to help halt the mysterious problems that are occurring. Soon you become one of the mutants and are trying to find a cure to get home safely. This first person shooter is a great pick me up at gamefly because it gives hours of great shootem up fun. There are a lot of things that i didn't like about this game.
One of these many problems is that there is only 2 type of enemies, mutants and mutant soldiers and after a while this games feels really repetitive. I also was upset with how few weapons that you could really kill with. In total there were only 4 weapons to choose from. and the fear factor that the game trys to install in it but eventually they became more and more boring and obvious until it just becomes useless.
The good thing about this game is that it looks amazing. this game is very smooth and it makes you curious to see what's next. Also the AI in the game is honestly the best I've seen in any video game. The storyline is easy to get into. It is filled with many twists and deaths to the point that you are forced to want to play more and get to the next part of the level. Finally I particularly enjoyed killing the mutants and solving many puzzles like getting alien DNA with your scanner or trying to unlock doors to get an access key. Overall this game is amazing with some minor nooks and craneys that were a little overlooked.

Area 51 isn't game of the year but, it is a decent game though the cover art and screen shots don't make it look like it. I stumbled on this game in my local rental store and I suggest you do the same thing. The graphics are very strong and you can defiantly feel the tension, I was scared to move around corners at some times.
