Ape Escape 3 for PlayStation 2 Reviews by Gamers

Ape Escape 3 is the sequel to my favorite game in the world,Ape Escape 2.I loooovvve the game!(You'd
expect that...)But there are some things that don't
match it up to the second game.
I'll start with the pros.Weeeellll,AE3 gives us more options and privelages that AE2 didn't have.For
example,similar to the modern-day PKMN series,you
can play as a boy/girl.Kei has the same attributes of Spike and Jimmy (he copies their run,their jumps,
their gadgets.)His commonaries with Spike is that he
has no Pipotchi,but he does the same dance Jimmy does WITHOUT Pipotchi when you finish a level.Yumi is a different story,however.She runs slower and jumps lower than Kei,but that doesn't mean she's a
bad character!You can utilize her ability to make
her fans dazed,giving you an easy shot at the monkeys.And some of them are quite difficult to catch as Kei!Also,the cutscenes when Yumi is facing a boss slightly differ from Kei's,so you can play the story from a different view as Yumi!
They added more offers,too.You can transform into a variety of characters utilizing a transformation device,adding more customization,
and more fun!Monkey Steal makes the game more engaging than the previous titles.When you harass
a monkey long enough,they'll take your gadgets and use them to their advantage.Either you'll be
easily killed as Kei,or easily caught as Yumi.
But there's some cons,too,like all games.The
voice acting has gone considerably worse.I don't
understand how come Specter doesn't sound as dignified like before,and Natalie-she's sixteen,isn't she?This makes the cutscenes a bit
more stressing than before.Also,the graphics are
a bit off.The game always starts off slow when you begin a level,and the monkeys don't look as neat as before.They also took out the Bananarang,
the Water Cannon,the Electro Magnet,some 'drastic' Concept sketches,manga strips,and they
made the funny pics shorter due to more stuff.
Other than that,I prefer AE3 as a pretty good
buy. It's like heaven...sort of.
