Game Description
Zeus, creator and ruler of the Guardians of the Gates, has raised you from beyond the grave. Now you must go forth and destroy an unknown evil that is ravaging the universe by collecting the keys and stealing the essence of each world. Essence Orbs will aid you by allowing you to transform from man to beast at will, including creatures like the Dragon and Scorpion. Collect power-ups like Shockwave and Venom that give you awesome special attacks. Battle up to three other friends in four-player fighting arenas, or complete quests with a friend in 2P co-op mode.

Altered Beast originated in the arcades and was the original pack-in game with the Sega Genesis console, way back in 1989. Wow, this is terrible. I loved the arcade Altered Beast, but I don't love this GBA version. Poor controls, poor graphics, and just too difficult. No reason to waste your time on this. Check out the arcade version on Gametap, unlimited lives is where it's at!more
