I am usually easy on game ratings, especially B-rated / low-budget ones... but Alpha Protocol is by far the worst, most frustrating garbage I have ever played on the Xbox360! You know the commercial Gamefly has of the people screaming and enraged about the games they bought??? This is the game they are talking about! When this game was being announced, I saw all the developer videos and trailers and was so excited about this game that I was going to pre-order it. Thankfully, I did not have the money at the time because I would have broken the game, my controller, and my xbox within the first 10 minutes! The idea of the game was perfect! Be an agent that does missions, but have what you say in cutscenes affect outcomes, be able to change your facial features, edit and modify your clothes and weaponry, pick different agent qualification backgrounds/attributes, gain xp/attributes/special abilities, and do it all from your safehouse that has "trophies" from completed missions... all adding to what seemed to be a high replay value. Unfortunately (almost as a joke) SEGA was able to completely screw this up and make the camera controls and angles horrendous, aiming/accuracy ridiculous, cover ineffective, and AI idiotic. Another great idea that was implemented, but became annoying quick was the way locks were picked and computers were hacked. If it became too monotonous or frustrating, you can always EMP the equipment. There is just too much to explain of how bad this game is. Basically it is Killswitch but with all the extra goodies that would have made this a contender for "Game of the Year" yet failed worse than SEGAs pathetic attempt (or lack of attempt) to keep the Dreamcast alive. Just so you know, I am writing this because right when I thought the game couldn't get any worse, it froze up while registering that I picked up ammo, opened a door, and went up an XP level all at once! Stay away from this game, just Youtube it if you wanna see the gameplay.
