what can i say that hasn't already been said in other reviews. We were promised the sky and gearbox didn't deliver. I can't blame gearbox since the project was handed over from 5 different publishers but when you deliver a less than mediocre product with a fanbase that demands perfection.
The game could have been made better by improving its AI or getting rid of the NPC characters and putting you alone in the game which makes the series terrifying. There was no level where its you alone in a hanger and there is an alien stalker tracking you and its just you and your motion tracker.
Its misguided focus on fighting humans rather than aliens for a majority of the game, its limp storyline and the way it tried to change the 'lore' of the game really hit the fans the hardest.
I really someone in the future sees the potential to make this a "survival horror" game which the aliens franchise needs (amnesia +aliens). People would be talking about that game for ages and not just giving people a vanilla shooter.
