From the complaints I'm seeing it looks like people are unhappy because they seemed to expect too much out of the game. It's called marketing guys; everyone blows their games out of proportion. If you have extremely high standards and need state of the art graphics and the smoothest gameplay ever, then this game might not be for you. If you are a gamer who just wants to shoot some aliens alongside some friends and have a a lot of fun doing it, check this game out! I just beat Dead Space 3 and although the graphics were much better and the controls and game felt overall smoother it just wasn't fun. You walk through the same stale environments and enemies seem less scary then in previous installments. Then this came out. I enjoyed this one so much more due to the fresh levels and amazing co-op experience. Best way to describe this game is Left for Dead with Aliens. Not the best production wise but more fun than most games with superior graphics. Isn't that the point of games after all? To have fun? If you can tolerate meh graphics for an overall great gaming experience this game is a must have! Hope to see some of you online!
I will say this. I was pretty scared in the beginning (and this is coming from someone who played Silent Hill 2 and Fatal Frame alone in a two story house, at night, on a large open acre property), It seemed, like with almost all lowly rated games I play, like it was getting good. This happens when you haven't felt the mechanics of the game out in full just yet, and usually with a bad game, you notice the flawed mechanics pretty quickly. I'm not gonna be the helpful guy and say WHY it's bad, because everyone has different preferences, and really our time is valuable, is it not? But I will say this... the experience felt hollow after an hour. There was bone, but no marrow. A bun, but no hotdog. A room, but no furniture. I think you get the jist of it.
