Aliens: Colonial Marines for Xbox 360 Reviews by Gamers

I ranked this game a 10 just to counter act the ridiculous garbage being said about this game. In reality I would give it an 8 or 7.5. I actually read a review on a site that complained while the guns sound exactly like the guns in the Aliens movie they get annoying because "you shoot too much"! Seriously. Wow. FAIL. Also, please don't claim to be a "Die Hard Aliens Fan" if you don't get the story line in this game. That probably means you didn't get Prometheus the movie either and therefore have demonstrated you cannot think for yourself and must be spoon fed easy plot lines. Therefore your Aliens fan card has been rejected...with gusto!

Here is the REAL deal about this game. The story is just fine and it does a good and reasonable job of linking the movies together. Again, think for a minute when playing the game. Humans have brought the Aliens back to LV-426 on the Sulaco. We know the WY Corp is evil so are we surprised there are humans that are trying to kill you too as they were experimenting with the Aliens which PERFECTLY falls in line with the Aliens canon.... This all makes sense if you are familiar with the series.

The game is fun and the achievements are all named from quotable and famous lines from the movie Aliens like "Eat This!" when you shotty an Aliens head off point blank, etc. You get to visit and fight through tons of famous areas in the movie that still has damage from the movie in them. There are tons of Easter eggs for true, actual, die hard Aliens fans.

The AI is not that great I will admit but not horrible. Graphics decent, not horrible but let's face it Rage had the best ever console graphics and no one will ever match that so what do you expect?

Just check out the game, and have fun with it. If you are above fan and consider yourself an Alien Franchise "Nerd" like me, you'll appreciate the total package despite the few flaws that exist.

I played this game on my pc just to try it before I get it in the mail through gamefly. If you have ever played duke nukem forever the game it setup sort of the same way. They are using unreal 3 which is sort of outdated. But the graphics looks good, I like the upgrade system they have for your weapons. The very first level is very nostalgic for some aliens fans. The sound in this game is amazing, the gun sound is exactly from the movie.
