Could have been much better.

This game has its moments. There are times when you get very excited about a new alien or a new weapon that you can use to punish the growing horde. That being said, a poor use of graphics and tedious gameplay makes this game cumbersome.
The graphics on the Wii are not so bad that they should look like Alien Syndrome. At times I thought I was playing a original Playstation game. The textures are raw and have very little detail. You can also see jaggies all over the place. I think there were some passionate developers involved with the title, but they left this game very unpolished.
The game mechanics work, but after killing the same enemy one hundred times, it gets old. It got to the point were I really didn't care if I was making progress. I slowly lost my excitement for the game and eventually didn't even finish it. I played it about 75% through and didn't bother with the rest.
It's not all bad. The RPG element of the game is fun. I was always excited when I leveled up or found a killer weapon. They were creative in their types of weaponry and there is a lot to choose from. Inventory management, on the other hand, was a pain. I was constantly checking which weapon was better and there were so many bad weapons dropped that it just seemed pointless after a while. Also, the SCARAB unit that follows you and makes weapons is useless. Mine never offered anything worth jack.
I would say this is a fun game to try, but you won't want to waste too much time on it.
