Gets boring pretty quick

Ready for a goo 3rd person sci-fi shooting for the PSP? Alien Syndrome isn't it.
The setting, controls, inventory system, and graphics were just fine but it was the gameplay itself that does it in.
I played the first three levels and killed off 450+ plus bad guys. 445 of them were split between two monsters, the legless crawly-thing and the brown worm things. Right near the end of the third level there's a peek at something different to shoot at, but by then it's far too late in coming.
The gameplay involves wandering around a crazy-layout level (I think you're supposed to be on board a ship, but the floorplans make no sense) whacking hundreds of the same monsters over and over again, picking up the loot, equipping the good stuff, salvaging the rest and doing it all over again. And again. And again.
Annoyingly, the monsters sometimes seem to conjure themselves up out of thin air. You'll go down a dead-end corridor, clear it out, turn around to exit and then suddenly get attacked from behind from creatures that simply were not there a moment ago.
Alien Syndrome could have been much better. My attention span isn't all that short, but when I completed level three and saw that level four was just the same, I simply couldn't go on.
