I wanted to like this game and tried hard for 12 hours but it just fell flat, hard.
Its starts off good. Zany and odd with great graphics and Alice is one mean lady. After awhile though it is very repetitive. There are about three different types of mobs and just a bunch of jumpy for the first 12 hours.
I thought there might be different perspectives and tricky puzzles to solve but 9 time out of 10 I would walk into a new scene and just jump from moving platforms without ever trying to figure out where I was going or what I needed to do. Everything was painfully obvious.
I applaud the game for not being a button masher but after 12 hours and 1000+ teeth the only weapon is a slightly upgraded one i started out with? Serious?
I was so psyched to buy this game before even bothering to rent it based on reviews on Gamespot/IGN but an enjoyably psychotic setting and story is just not enough when the game play is so poor.
Seemed like a great idea for a game but the game play was awful. I personally can't stand games that rely heavily on jumping. I might have been able to over look that but, the combat just sucked. It seemed like combat was an after thought. If you like Mario, you might enjoy this but if you like a good hack n slash you might want to pass on this one.

Alice in general is not a bad game if you liked the original Alice. The idea of always popping up in your face what to do gets pretty annoying at times instead of just when you are looking at what you need. The controls for this game really favor the PC not so much the Console.
