simply put, every single game in the advance wars franchise is exceptional. this game is not as good as the ds version, so if you have the ds over the gba rent the ds one but this one is still great. all of these games combine a great story, with great strategy, to make a perfect type of game. ive never enjoyed any strategy style game as much as ive enjoyed these advance war titles. due to the fact this is always going to be on long wait (because its THAT good) i advise you simply find a way to buy it. be prepared though, these games all have the tendency to cause you to endure hour + minute battles, only to lose and have to re-try. but its all in good fun. these games are all ten plus for me. rent it now, buy it now, find a way to play it NOW.
This game is way better then the 1st one. It has a high replay value. Unlocking characters and maps was the funnest for me. You need to use strategy you cant just build a bunch of tanks and send them in you need air units and flanking ground units. One conveniently placed artillery can make all the difference between victory and defeat.
The Advance War series is an oasis of strategy goodness in a desert of tired old retread titles. It consistently provides solid strategy with more layers than a slice of lasagna. While this game is extremely enjoyable; it gets so much better. If you own a DS i would highly recommend skipping this title and playing either of the two excellent Advance Wars games on that system. If you've played both DS titles and are looking to check out the games roots; you may find this title a little lacking. Don't get me wrong; this is a great game; but it just doesn't have the features that this series has evolved into. If all you have is a GBA though, than all I can say is rent and enjoy!!
