Movie Description

Explore the magic of the Beatles and the 1960s in this revolutionary film by director Julie Taymor. When Jude (Jim Sturgess), a British dock worker, decides to travel to America to find his father, he falls in love with the beautiful Lucy (Evan Rachel Wood). Soon, though, Lucy's brother Max (Joe Anderson) is drafted to fight in the Vietnam War, and Jude and Lucy become major peace activists. Part live-action, part animation, and all style, Across the Universe describes an indescribable time in the most familiar way possible - with the music of the day. The title, main characters, and music all come from the legendary rock band which captured the time, energy, and feeling of the '60s.
