I was really eager when i first got this game, but a few levels in I began to see nothing really new. The graphics have improved and the A.I. is impressive but other than that nothing is much better. The story feels a lot weaker then in Ace Combat 5, and you don't get that feeling of attachment to your wingman as you did in Ace 5. The live action cutscenes really felt cheesy.
Another thing that bothered me was that Ace 5 had over 30 levels (including alternate levels). This game has just over 20. The ace style gauge was neat but too easy to manipulate. Fighting th aces sometimes felt annoying and tedious. Overall, i'd take Ace Combat 5 and maybe 4 over this game. I was really hoping for a lot more.

This title has certainly kept in line with it's predecessors. It has reigned supreme through out the PS2's existence and I am definitely looking forward to the Ace Combat franchise to continue delivering the goods for the oncoming PS3.
