This game is great.

For starters the Ar Tonelico's storyline is one that i have enjoyed the most out of my list of "Good Games." The story line consists of the male protagonist (obviously) and mainly 2 female protagonists. With the side characters of course.

The game has a sort of dating sim feel to it. You have certain story line choices to make that can lead to many hilarious and "akward" scenes. Which eventually will lead to you having to choose between the 2 females.

The battle sytem is a RPG basic play with the little twist of the girls singing to increase your abilities and cast spells.

My favorite part of the game is the fact that you can "dive" or go into the girls mind (or soul if u prefer) and see many funny events.

This games is great and i recomend it to any RPG player who enjoys a good fictional story line.

I really enjoyed playing the game when I first started. The characters were interesting and for awhile the combat was fun. However the more I played the game the more I really began getting tired of the meaningless random battles. The random battles became especially irritating when I would get lost in some of the maze like dungeons.

The combat system also began to get really repetitive. At first it was alright but after awhile it got tiresome. Most of the battles can be won with the same combination of attacks. You just have to keep repeating the same moves over and over till the enemy HP goes down.

By the end of the game I was glad to be done with the game. There was a few more endings I could have went back to get but didn't want to spend any more time on the game.

Storywise the game was fairly standard but did a good job of keeping my interest throughout. As mentioned above, I really did like the characters and so I was interested in learning their back stories. The dive system with the Revytali was a very unique aspect to the game. This is not something I can recall seeing in a standard RPG.

It may sound like I didn't like this game very much but it was a fun rental. It is not something I could see myself going back to play, though.

A rather simplistic approach to a RPG that works wonderfully. While there's a lot of games out there that try to drastically change the old RPG format, this game does nothing of the sort. Rather, it adheres to KISS. Keep It Simple Stupid.

The game is traditional in it's fighting. Though it's use of HarmoCrystals and Song Magic does step out of the norm a bit, it is similar enough that it doesn't take much to learn. The story, boiled down to it's basics, is you're normal 'save the world' kinda thing, though it's not as blatantly obvious as in some other games.

It has some dating game elements in there, but it's mostly negligible if you want to skip the stronger Song Magic. The way it seamlessly blends in with the game is just pure magic.

IMO, the place this game truly stands out is in its music. It truly has a wonderful soundtrack. I particularly found Aurica's Purger theme to be unique, though my favorite piece would have to be Misha's Crescent Chronicle.

The three bad points of this game, I have to say, is it's overuse of sexual innuendo's, the horrible translation, and the fact that it's too easy. Diving and Installing blatantly reference gutter level themes so much that it's a horror to watch. The translation at times even messes up on who's speaking, making some conversations impossible to follow. And the game is horribly easy. I finished it without having to stop to level up at all.

Very good for casual gamers and RPG fans that are tired of the same thing. It's both refreshing, and unique. Can't wait for it's sequel.
