fun mechanics and plenty of jokes

I'm not done with this game yet, but I am on the last dungeon and so far it's been one of the most addicting games I've played in several months. I would imagine most of the negative reviews come from people who never actually played any old school NES RPG's and probably only were allowed to watch an older sibling play them. If you enjoyed the old school North/South/East/West dungeon-crawler RPG's then you'll feel right at home in this game. The story line is lacking, but only because it's supposed to, seeing as how the game is one huge joke ripping all sorts of old school games.

It's not a very long game, but if you want something to hold your attention and taunt you with the kind of good puzzles they just don't put in games any more, then I'd say rent it. It definitely held my attention for about 12 hours.

Legend of Dot heroes: Rehash to the past

I knew this was supposed to be reminiscent of the original Zelda, but what I didn't realize was that it was more than just an homage, it was nearly a remake. The enemies, the maps, the dungeons, the items, nothing in this game is really original. But that's not completely a bad thing.

Zelda was a fantastic game and if you enjoyed the gameplay of the old zeldas then you will enjoy this one too.

The difficulty curve in this game is pretty steep. You might be breezing through the first few dungeons, but as you progress the enemies get a lot stronger and rather quickly at that.

The ability to create your own hero was a nice addition. I personally have no real skill in 3d design, yet was able to make a full fledged DOMO-kun hero which made the game twice as interesting. The desgin process is rather easy to move things around and build characters, though it can be a little gritty to get used to switching between the X-Y to Y-Z angles for building.

This game has a lot to offer beyond the first play through and loads to collect within the game.

Definitely worth renting and playing, but I highly recommend renting before buying.

I rated this a 6/10, and would say it's about $10 worth of fun.

I think the word "Cheap" best describes this game. Feels like somethign you would download off Xbox live. I found the controls to be clunky and the gameplay to be boring and I love all the old Zelda games (and new ones).

Might be worth a rent to some, but I didn't care for it. This game should be on Xbox Live/PSN for abotu $15 digital download.
