Great show, bland game

The game is so simple, it does an injustice to the wonderfully, complex television show that draws it's inspiration .
The game offers variety from third-person shooter, first-person shooter, car chase, foot chase, computer/password decoding and interrogation. Unfortunately, this game doesn't do any one of these very well.
The shooting and aiming is a little buggy if you get too close. The game developers tried to bandage this with an option to use a melee attack. Otherwise, sniping is fun but because this game is to appeal to many ages, head shots are no different than body shots. A little bloody grue could have gone a long way.
Cars handle very loosely and is a throwback to old PS1 games.
The foot chase is unbearable as running into things is cumbersome and tiring after the twentieth attempt.
The password and computer decoding is fun but is simplified and only becomes tedious.
The interrogation is actually very fun and I wish there was much more. A mixture of intense drama and puzzle solving made this portion of the game very involving.
The graphics are fairly decent and the game chugs along at a fairly strong framerate. The faces range from excellent (Jack Bauer and Tony Almeida) to barely recognizable (Michelle Dressler) The voice acting is excellent as they retain all our favorite characters.
The story is solid and a welcome addition to the "24" mythology. The story could be the only reason fans will play through this game. Everyone else will quit fairly early. Their choice of placing this story early in "24" mythology could simply be because of actor availablity and prolonged game development. If this isn't the reason than the choice is rather odd.
The soundtrack is as compelling to it's television counterpart.
Rent the game and beat it very quickly. It's not worth keeping in your library unless you are a diehard fan of the television show.
"Tell me what I need to know!" - Jack Bauer
"The game is mediocre, Jack." - Mike Mexico, "Please try again."
