Not bad for a first time player!

Personally, I only played this for a few hours at a friend's house, but I found the game to be very addicting and fun.
The whole World Cup atmosphere is great and the overall gameplay is superb. The only down side is that it takes a little time to get playing competitively if you don't already have a soccer game from EA, I found scoring goals and tackling without getting a yellow card the hardest to master.
This was actually the first soccer videogame I played, and will be the first soccer game I will buy.
