Then this is a nice little game to hold you over. This game is very much in the image of Diablo 2. That being said, it is only $20 so you'll need to temper your expectations a bit. The classes are decently diverse, but slightly unbalanced. The difficulty levels provide a lot of options as far as how you want the game to go. Gear is diverse, and the ability to add some enchantments is fun. And replayability is high. Another reviewer made the comment of the game being over after beating it once. This isn't the case. You can play the whole game through again basically in Nightmare mode, as well as having access to the mapworks generating random dungeons.
You get what you want here, you assign stats, you have to build your character, no constant rebuilding mid game, good amount of monsters, VERY smooth combat, and nice scenery. No micro-transaction pay to win garbage like most games coming out nowadays.
Negatives include, the game being pretty short. If you play on casual or normal you'll finish it in a day maybe 2. The classes are pretty unbalanced, Embermage is a savage, Engineer is fairly weak. There are also a couple features they took away from the first one that I liked. Having the random dungeons feature throughout the game was nice in the first one. And also enchanting is severely limited in this game compared to the first one.
Overall this game is WAY more worth the money then Diablo 3, and with the modding capabilities that are being added to it user content will probably add a lot of fun to a very cheap and awesome game.
Also if you're looking for another REALLY good Diablo Clone, checkout Titans Quest. It's not as creative as this game, but has much cooler class structures.
