Important Note: OBSE or Oblivion Script Extender is a tool that a lot of the best mods for oblivion need in order to work. The Oblivion.exe that comes from this site is encrypted and the developers of OBSE have stated that they will not try to break it. Thus, OBSE doesn't work with gamefly's version of oblivion.
One of the great things about Oblivion that has kept it playable for years and years is the modding community. There are thousands and thousands of mods out there that keep rejuvenating this game and why I'm still messing around with it in 2012.
If you're a fan of skyrim and thinking about playing Oblivion you should! Just keep in mind that the game is more than 6 years old now, but that's what the mods are for. In comparison to skyrim, oblivion will feel a lot more empty. There isn't something new every 10 ft, it's more like 20 or 30 ft, and you can't catch the butterflies.
I actually preferred Oblivion's Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild quests to Skyrims. The DB seemed to need a lot more thought to get your kills just right and the Thieves seemed a lot more thief like. There are loads more quests besides those, just like in skyrim and many many dungeons and forts to explore. So get it and have fun! Just keep in mind the OBSE thing.
