Not worth full price, but not terrible either

To put it bluntly: this game is not worth the $30 that it goes for normally. It's not so much that Singularity is a bad game; its gameplay is generic, it's extremely short, and it has little to no replay value, but it's not a bad game. The story does do some interesting stuff with the "set history right" trope, though, so it's hardly a total waste. Singularity may not be worth $30, but it is worth considering a purchase when it's on sale.

"generic"

Corridor shooter, standard enemy ai, every "generic" trick in the book...exploding barrels, doors that suddenly lock until you defeat the swarm of enemies or boss, only one way to go when the doors do unlock, so on and so on. "Time control" gimicky at best (done better in Timshift..not really time control here), powers and upgrade system not bad (done better in a slew of games, but still gives a tad of depth), looks nice, pretty good job on atmosphere (looks, audio logs....again, nothing new, but not bad). Think Doom 3 level design with a tad of bioshock upgrade system. Don't come here for an interesting story, but not horrible either. Standard shooter story (science gone wrong, mutants, go kill them, save world). No technical issues, ran smooth for me.
