This game gives all the fun of movie piracy, without the petty management details that overburden other pirate games I've tried. Sure, you can still get into trading if you want, but the real meat of this game is in the high-seas chases, the trading of cannon fire, and finally the clash of ships and dueling with the enemy captain - a process that is helped along not only by your skill, but by the advantage (or disadvantage) you get from comparing your crew to the enemy's. And when you get tired of sea battles, you can always try invading an enemy town, hunting for buried treasure, or even searching for lost cities in the Central American jungle. All in all, if you want a game that gives you the fun of piracy, without the dirty, sweaty reality, look no further. I wouldn't trade my copy for anything (except maybe a new copy, if I ever scratched my disk).
