I loved the game, I think I put more hours and replay into this game than any other. I didn't like that you couldn't play as an officer, although I can see how that might have been difficult to implement. beside that the battles felt more realistic, having to watch you're supplies and the ability to resupply on the move as well.
I have loved this game since it first came out on the old 8 bit Nintendo. This Romance of the Three Kingdoms XI version caused many crashes on my old Windows XP Professional OS. Now that I've got the new Windows 8 Professional OS I'm back to give it another try. I would have given it a 10 rating except for my previous experiences with the crashes. Who knows, I may change the rating if things have improved using the new Windows 8 OS which has brought many of my older games back to life.
Still even with the crashes that I experienced with this XI version of the game it held my interest and I kept playing it. As I said it has been a long time favorite of mine, I fell in love with it from the very first time that I played it.
Game is a little bit too simplified. I miss RoTK 2-3 on SNES where you actually had to work your cities to make them economically strong. You can't really gain a dominance by being rich because once the city is fully built, you can't improve it and your "POL" people becomes useless. OTherwise, the fighting was improved.
