Return to Mysterious Island 2 continues from where the previous game ended with Mina about to be rescued from the mysterious island. But, once again fate steps in and the helicopter that came to rescue Mina crashes and our young heroine is once again trapped back on the island. She survived, but is once again stranded on the island, but the island is in trouble.
An unknown disease is afflicting the plants and animal life. Players take on the dual role of either Mina or her pet monkey; Jep, each with their own abilities and skills, to explore the island to locate the infection source and stop it before it destroys the only home they have.
