After defeating Shub-Niggurath, you arrive back at your home base on Earth, but it's not all blue skies and butterflies. Apparently, not all Quake forces have been subdued. Chaos ensues as you blast your way through the Quake minions and toward the infested gateway. Your only choice is to find the source of evil and shut it down. Without any hesitation, and with more guts than common sense, you leap into a portal of unknown destination.
- Strafe and slaughter your way through 15 levels contained in three monster-infested episodes. And tear your friends apart in an all-new DeathMatch level, Edge of Oblivion.
- All-new flesh-ripping gremlins are small, blood-thirsty creatures that attack in swarms and can steal your weapons and use them against you.
- Never-before-seen weapons include the mjolnir--when this war hammer pounds the floor, it fires an electrical force along the ground, striking several enemies with its lethal current; the laser cannon, which lets you disintegrate scores of creatures with scorching laser blasts; and motion-sensitive proximity mines.
- Undertake atmospheric nightmares like lightning traps, floating spike mines, gondolas, outdoor environments, and stunning architecture never seen before in Quake.
- There are two new episodes, 16 new levels, but only one way out. Your journey has led you down a path of no return. The acrid smell of death fills the air. And you know the road ahead may lead to your grave. But Quake, with his insidious, apocalyptic plans, must be crushed. If you fail, evil will shroud the universe for all eternity.
- Hell's Fortress episode: After battling your way through seven terrifying levels, you will find yourself in the tomb of the overlord. Here you must confront the general of Quake's mighty army for a final bloodletting.
- The Corridors of Time episode: Lost in a world of eight horribly mad levels, you begin to unravel Quake's cunning plan. In the end, you will face the deadliest monstrosity ever unleashed: The Dragon.
- The Evil episode: Go at it with seven nasty new entities--the Warths, the Guardians, the Phantom Swordsmen, statues, electric eels, the powerful overlord, and the massive Dragon (the endgame challenge you have been lusting for).
- The Arsenal episode: You have all the new weaponry, and you are going to need it. Inflict some major pain with lava nails, multigrenades, multirockets, and a beefed-up plasma gun.
- The New Network Curse episode: Teams go head to head in the latest, most intense version of capture-the-flag, including an additional monster-free DeathMatch level.
