If this game didn't work for you one thing you might want to try is to go to the psychonauts folder you can find it by searching your computer for it next open the file that says displaysettings look for where it says FullScreen:true change the true to False then save it it should work fine after that

This game works!

Not only does this game work perfectly (windows 7 i5 64 bit) but its an amazing game worth the time to play.
Anyone having a problem installing games from here needs to understand how to set compatibility mode (xp service pack 2 is reliable) and also needs to know WHICH FILE TO SET COMPATIBILITY MODE ON!!!!!

Usually its the "setup.exe" file that is in the folder the game downloaded to ( usually in the "gamefly" folder in your users directory)

if any of this is too complicated for you... well, that sucks... you're missing out on a great game.

I also recommend playing this with a gamepad/controller... Personally i use "motionjoy" to make my PS3 controller work on my PC.

Error came up after install when I tried playing it. I unintalled it and re-downloaded it and all that jazz and still the same error. Tomb Raider: Anniversary gave me the same error. Missing a certain file. I troubleshooted it for awhile and just gave up.

I had always heard that this was a good game but until it was free to download i hadnt got to play. then when i did i blew my mind this game was ridiculously awesome

Doesn't work. None of the PC games I've downloaded have worked on my i7. Not worth the time it took to install it. Also all the game they have listed are like 10 years old.

Really Bad

Failiure of a Port

The actual idea and the art style are both quite good and it could have made for a very very good game in fact it probably did on consoles. However the lack of rebindable controls and the random changes in camera angle made it quite difficult to see what was going on and move. Add to that the targeting system (which requres you to continue to press the button to maintain the target! AND will only target in the direction your character is facing NOT where you (the player) are looking!) and suddenly the game as a whole begins to loose its appeal. It could have been an amazing game with a better control scheme and camera angle, but with those to glaring faults I was unable to play it all the way through. When I died for the fourth time on a boss because my character thought the wall was a more imposing threat than the boss I opted to change games for something that was actually playable.

This game is easily one of the best games ever made. The story is fantastic, the characters are remarkable, and the setting of each different mind is so vivid and memorable. This game is incredibly funny and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great gaming experience.

This game is different and refreshing on the xbox . There was supposed to be a follow up on the 360 , but it seems to have never happened . This game is a lot of fun , and its funny as ..... You will enjoy it.

Don't let the fact that it's in the Free section fool you. This game is quite different and refreshing in it's art style and premise. It doesn't hold your hand but instead gives you the tools you need to find your way. The story is fantastic and kept me wanting to find out more. By the time I finished I was ready to play again just to see how the experience changed now that the whole story was revealed. I've been gaming since it first began and I can honestly say this is one of my favorites so far. The News of a Psychonauts 2 in the works is an added bonus.

I'm giving it a 10 to offset those who can't give proper reviews and use the rating system to show they're upset or annoyed.

This game is horrible. I hate this game and I could only play it until I got stuck somewhere because I had no idea where to go. Besides that the graphics are really bad. Im irritated that I can't get the time back that I wasted playing this garbage.

Simply amazing...

I have probably beaten this game twice, the last one being about 3 years ago. Both times I had an incredible expierence. I recently started it again upon discorving it was free on Gamefly and my experience with it has never been better. The graphics are still lovely to look at -- even though the game is several years old -- and the character dialogue is enjoyable and will keep you laughing throughout the entire game. The various powers you acquire in your journey to become a Psychonaut are awesome and fun to use. The game also has many secrets to search for if you're interested in those types of games. Although Psychonauts may have the appearance of a kid game, it has become way more fun for me to play as a young adult than it ever was for me as a kid. I HIGHLY recommend it to anybody!
