I have a lot of fun with this game, and still play it today. Some people just need to read the manuel, and then the game becomes fun. You need to control gangs, riots, etc. I dont care about the graphics and how fast the game runs. It was still a great expierience for a UPP. The game ran smoothly, and I hope they add something just as good as this game to Ultimate PC Play.

Read the manual first! These so called gamers believe that they can jump into any game any learn the game from that aspect. Once you learn the basics of the game you will start to have fun trust me. It's something like a bad case of SIM City on steroids, it's none stop action and in some cases if you move to slow you run the risk of multiple escapes. My biggest suggest to you is, learn the basics of this game such as: 1. Assigning work locations, 2. Parole's I have had more success with only letting the possible go instead of Highly Likely, 3. Do not worry too much about assigning beds, the prisoners are going to get they lay down where they fit in, 4. Give your staff wage increases 5. You hire staff based on the rooms you build. So if you build a "Therapy" room you just hired a Therapist. You repeat this action for other staffing hires. Just sharing my insight! FrankNitty the observationist

When you first play, its a little wierd you want to give the prisoners the best so you spend a bunch and you end up going bankrupt. The key is to start small with the essentials. Housing, cafe`, office, security, activity, work. After you progress, add another security building and your security level will go to med. It opens up a bunch of stuff, new cafe, work building, housing etc. more inmates and more work means more money. Start out slow and work your way up it takes a little while but it really is a tricky challenge. I've tired/ trying, to make it up to high security level without, escapes and riots. Have fun if your into challenging games with an interesting goal haha. P.s. the hospital wait on it till your inmates start getting sick it will save you money and the education get it when you hit med security.

Sadly was not in mood for these games any more, and that mainly just because it has really no story or major realistic like point. Plus I disagree with some of the ways you in a way have to treat the prisoners and it's not as advanced as I would like, But fully recommend to those looking for it.

I don't see why everyone keeps saying this game is impossible to figure out... All you have to do is actually read the manual first, as hard as that may be for some people... On the very first screen that pops up when you start the game, which says "play" "manual" "quit", you press "manual" and click on "The Game". Then you read. It's really not that difficult...

I think this game is pretty fun and it will keep you occupied. If you want a role playing game to keep you busy for a while, this game is perfect!

Ok so if your having a problem loading the game its because you have to load it form your gamefly console, trying to start the game the old fashion way just wont work. And oh ya read your maual game is hard as heck if you dont know what your doing.

I feel that this game if done the right way could be alot of fun. its way too clunkey and it takes time to figure it out.

the main thing this game needs is a tutorial, It took me almost two hours to figure out how it works, save me the time and throw in a beginer mode.

it would also be neat if you could click on the inmates and pull up their backround. it would add an extra intrest element if you knew what they were in for.

I feel my rating of a 5 was a little generous but i gave it a little extra bump because it has potentail it just bothers me that if this was prison tycoon 4 how bad was prison tycoon 1?

This game looks cool, but with the tycoons franchise they needed to put a little more into this game as providing a good direction an ingame help on how to start the game out. My best bet they assume everybody out there knows how to play the game without any directions. Anyways I give the game a 5.0 because of no direction of the game at all.

Maybe back in its day. Besides the amount of time you'll take frustrated trying to get the prison to open. Not worth it once you do

This game looked pretty fun and funny at the same time. The hardest part is just figuring out how to work the controls and build everything you need. there was no tutorial i could find and my prisoners and staff just did thier own thing. So could be a fun game if you have the patience to figure it out.

The game is confusing and hard to understand at the beginning with no tutorial mode. After reading some tuts on how to play, it's a pretty fun game.
