History (skip to story if you just want the review)

portal was a new concept for gaming which started in 2005 as a tech demo of sort called narbacular drop and it was developed by ninjamonkeysoftware. It made you think using 2 gates (portals) that could open on select surfaces when valve played the game they loved it and hired ninjamonkeysoftware to work on a new game with the same concept called portal.

Story

In this game you assume the role of chell, an orphaned girl who must go through a series of test with a company's new equitment the portal gun. Plus a computerised voice guides you throughout the chambers and it can be really funny at times

Concept

If you hadn't heard of the concept it is simple you make a portal using your gun then make another. Next, go into one portal and you will come out the other. It will get harder as you go along with new, fun challenges to face.

bad

The game doesn't have many bad parts to it, but it does have a few. When you activate a lift it takes about 30 seconds to move 5 feet and it may be hard to aim into floor portals without uping the mouse sensitivity the game can also get really frustrating at points but never too difficult. My final complaint is the length if you played portal 2 first you can beat it in under 3 hours which is a little too short

verdict

Portal is a really fun and sometimes challenging game with good humor (just a warning, you need steam by valve to play it) and if you already have steam you should pick it up right away and it will be well worth it.

I decided to write this review for an old game that many people aren't familiar of, and for anyone looking it over. I'll never say this for any other game ever again: perfect. 10/10. I cannot think of a thing wrong with this. Clever, humorous, and puzzling. The physics are amazing. I bought this game a month after it released to see how average it was. It practically blew up in my face it was so good. It may be short; but short games for short release time, right? That's GOOD. It's also fun to see how fast you can complete a specific puzzle after you've beaten it ten times over. To anyone who doesn't like it: you should be ashamed to call yourself a gamer.

Now your Thinking.... With Portals

Ps. This game is rated T for mild violence and Blood. But there is very very very little language involved. There is no Cake, so it should be rated M
Portal was the result of a student game from digipen, Narbacular Drop. In the game you play as Chell, a test subject for the Apature Science Enrichment center, who must traverse levels usin the Apature Science Handheld Portal Device, or Portal gun. Chell is guided by the seemingly harmless AI GLaDOS. The story is excellent and the graphics are good as well. There is combat, of you can call picking up a cute looking cute sounding robot and turning it on it's side combat,

GAMEFLY!!!

I can't do anything with this or any game I purchased yesterday because Gamefly decided to rip off my money by not creating a stupid re-download button! I can't play SWKOTOR, SW:Jedi Academy, OR this game all because Gamefly is freaking terrible at their jobs. I wasted 40 dollars on all three games and now they won'teven TRY to install. Someone better tell me what the HECK is going on here because I KNOW it isn't my laptop. It created specifically to play games such as KOTOR and Portal. I can't even uninstall KOTOR because apparently it never existed on my laptop even though I played through the entire first ship and THEN all through Taris. I exited then restarted but then it would never load. And PORTAL won't even INSTALL because the files from the download were "corrupted" even though I went through multiple times to try and re-install it but nothing. FREAKING. WORKED. Either Gamefly fixes this, or they give me a full refund!
