Just Cause 2 is an absolute blast (pun intended). This has become one of my favorite games of all time and what little it lacks in sophistication is made up for by pure, unadulterated fun.
Yes, it's not perfect (trying to drive land vehicles with the keyboard sux) and the story line is a bit contrived, but this sandbox game (non-linear) has an absolutely HUGE play field.
There are main missions and side quests galore, but the main fun is traveling about, blowing things up, killing government goons and causing chaos. There are 368 different towns, cities, military bases, airports, harbors, comm outposts, etc. to conquer and devastate.
Unlike most recent 6-hour single-player linear shooters, you can literally spend hundreds of hours traveling around this vast archipelago causing mayhem.
Once you get the hang of using the grappling hook, that adds a dimension to the game not found in any other game I've played. Almost everything is explodable and the explosions are epic.
Just Cause 2 is simply fun on a very large scale. Did I mention that it's huge? Well worth full price and a steal on sale. I sincerely hope there's a Just Cause 3.
