If you were a gamer in the early 2000s, odds are you remember the civ building games produced by Sierra. Off the top of my head, there was Zeus (and the Poseidon expansion), Dynasty, and Cleopatra. All of them ran on the same engine and concept, essentially a clone of each other with a fresh coat of paint on top to make it a different era (Greece, Japan, Egypt, etc.) Imperium Romanum is eerily similar to these games, with better graphics and more spoken dialogue.
A word of warning : this game will start off slow. If you're one of those people that need constant action, this game isn't for you. If you can sit down and easily lose and hour or two playing a strategy game, give this game a shot. It seems that it's more enjoyable as time passes, as you learn how to better build your city state.
