also dont expect to use your mouse to move or click.. yep no mouse option. graphic wise very poor and combat even worse. keep in mind gothic seris is a good play but ive found gothic 3 unplayable due to crashs and bugs this one runs.. but you'll feel like running away from it in the first 10 mins of playing.

Just rented Acania: Gothic 4 from here so I thought I would catch up on the story. Played Gothic 1 after finding out a friend actually still had his copy... Good, not great, but this was playing it YEARS after it originally came out so I was not expecting much. Gameplay was definitely easy to get a handle on and cheat guides were everywhere for the game already. I know, I know, you don't get the full experience from playing the game as a god, but I just wanted to get through it to catch up on the story. Gothic 2 didn't really improve much in terms of graphics. Still very enjoyable game and it felt longer than the original. I thoroughly enjoyed playing this game through. Once again, I did play cheating, but in my defence, I just wanted to fly through the game to get the back ground on the series. I am wierd that way. Overall a great game in terms of being able to pretty much play the way you wanted to play. I picked up a bunch of ancillary side quests that were a fun interruption when I needed a break from the main storyline. Bottom line, I am now a Gothic fan!
